CHA Paper Show This Week

It's a super busy week....
Putting the finishing touches on all the make & takes, prizes, games, decorations & favors for the 8th Anniversary 24 hour crop on Saturday.  We are sold out & I'm over the moon excited to be celebrating 8 years since I opened my little store with those attending.

Suzy & I are attending the CHA Paper Show this week in downtown Atlanta Wednesday & Thursday.  It's a smaller show - CHA is trying something new to fill the gap of the defunct summer show.   I really miss going to Chicago for the "big" CHA summer show it's always helpful to see the new products in person.

There's a good variety of manufacturers coming to this show so I plan on ordering

 a lot of new goodies for the store & mini book kits

Hi everyone,

This is Suzy Gray.  I've been designing mini books & store samples for years now.  I've met quite a few of you while shopping or at crops & events.  Those who follow the store on Facebook already know that I'm going to be helping Susan keep up with the blog & some of the online things. She's a one woman show that's stretched thin & I'd been offering to do this for a while so I'm glad that she took me up on it.  Bringing back the blog has been important since some of you aren't on Facebook & we want you to be kept up to date.  It's also a great way to post lots more information & inspiration in a single post.

The blog remake is almost finished.... but I thought I would let you know the different ways to follow the store with just a click of the button.  See the icons at the top of the blog - each one will take you right to the social media page pictured.  There you can follow the store or just see what's been shared recently.

You'll also notice the page tabs listing: events, kits for sale, products carried, etc.  I've linked all the posts regarding each of those topics to that page with the most recent one first.  This way if you are interested in the events you can click there & each of the posts we've made about events will show up there.  The kits for sale page tab will also work that way.  Starting today I have started listing new kits.  Each style will have a blog post with description, pictures & then a Paypal buy it now button and/or Ebay store link.  You will be able to scroll down & see all the recent blog posts with kits for sale.  If you click on the page now there are some of our old sold out kits pictured but they are no longer available. 

Then if you would like to follow the blog by email I have made a box where you can subscribe to the posts.  It's located on the right side towards the top just under the address.

As for summer store hours I will be posting the projected store hours for the week here & Susan posts them on Facebook.  However those who follow the store Facebook know that Susan has a lot going on & Stacy takes summers off for family time so things can come up in life at the last minute.  We're so thankful for all the customers & know many drive quite a ways (I'm in Lilburn so I know first hand).... feel free to call or text Susan to just double check if you aren't on Facebook at 404-273-4773.   

Susan's also posting lots of information & inspiration on Instagram.  That's a fun place to share photos, inspiration & connect.  It's super easy to sign up & even if you don't post pictures you can connect with people you follow who do.

Expected Store Hours This Week

Here are the expected hours for this week. I found out last night the grading for our pool is scheduled for tomorrow at noon.  Stacy is off for the summer and I really need to be at the house for this so I will be closed on Tuesday.

Installation of the pool will be late this week or Monday. I will update hours as necessary. 

My mom and I will definitely be in the 

store Saturday for the card class and open until 2:00pm.

New Refer A Friend & Frequent Scrapper Program Beginning This Week

Several times a week we have new ladies come into
the store who have just discovered us. They never
knew about the store even after almost 5 years.

Today I came up with an idea
to continue letting scrappers know where
we are located and also reward our frequent
shoppers who help spread the word.

I think it is a cool/different program.
One I have not seen done before.

I will post all the details and we will
start the program this week :)

Spring Changes And New Faces At The Store

We have a few changes and new faces
around the store this
Spring so I thought I would post a little
post to let everyone know and introduce a
few gals.

With the continuing growth of the
mini book kits, my friend Stacy is
now in the store on most Mondays till
around 3pm or so prepping kits. Even though
the store is closed on Mondays she is more
than happy to welcome you in if you are
in the area and want to stop by. Stacy will
also be working on most Tuesdays during
regular hours 10:30-5pm to give me a little
break. I have pretty much been juggling
everything with the store, mini books, placing orders,
checking in new goodies, prepping/shipping kits, etc
by myself the past 5 years and I am very lucky to have
Stacy helping me at the store.

with Donna Downey to Teresa Collins, daily

with orders, checking in goodies to even
making coffee runs to Dunkin :)

The 2 Melissa/Mylissa's who started out as customers
and quickly became a part of the store
are now both helping out a few times a week
designing layouts, prepping kits, hostessing
crops and helping with the day to day runnings
of the store, mini books and shipping. I was
calling them Melissa #1 and #2 now it's
Mylissa and Wisconsin. (You will see why
when you meet Wisconsin :)

Opening Day Fun

We had a great opening of the new location yesterday.

It was a great day catching up with our regular gals
and meeting many new scrappy friends during the day.

We have all kinds of events and plans in the works for
the store so there will be alot of blog and facebook
posts coming up over the next several weeks.

Rather than post a mile long post now I will post individual
posts as we get plans finalized :)

I was so busy visiting with everyone yesterday
morning and through out the day I only took a few
pictures. I will have to take some this week :)

We will be having our usual FREE all day crop
with snacks & goodies for everyone.

We have been working non-stop getting the new store ready.
We are still aiming for re-opening mid-July (13th/14th) and
will keep posting updates as we get closer.

New Store Update

After a few delays we are just about ready to start moving merchandise in and
decorate.

All the fixtures, slat wall, shelves, cropping area tables/shelves etc are in and up. But the builder was not able to get the concrete floors polished the way I wanted so he is now painting them the next 2 days.

Then he only has the ceiling fans in the crop area and we are done..done...done...FINALLY... and we can start moving in product
and really get decorating.

At this point we expect to have our re-opening around Tuesday July 13th.

I have taken a ton of pictures of this whole process and will post
a slide show soon.

No more going into the backroom looking for paints, glazes, mod podge etc in bins There is a paint closet with deep sink in the cropping area. Need to add more
shelves though since this is only 1/3 of what was in the backroom in bins :)

New Store Update

We passed our last inspection yesterday and should be
receiving our certificate of occupancy around
1:00pm today. Yeah!!!!

We have almost all of the front of the old store packed
and ready to move starting tonight if all goes well.

It will probably take us a week or so to get everything
completely moved in and organized. I will post updates
and photos as we get closer to reopening.

Thank you to everyone for all the sweet emails and
messages. We can't wait to get settled and start
creating with all of you in the new store :)

A Few Peeks At The New Store

New Store Update

We should be able to start moving into the new store late this week.

I was over there several times over the weekend and they were painting and finishing
final details. I will post a few pics later today or tonight. I will also post the new address etc. Store phone number will stay the same.

Right now it is time to pack..pack..pack..The store will be closed this week
but if you are in the area and want to stop by come on :)

We have about 7-8 new lines that are or have arrived and they will all be out when the new store opens ...Basic Grey, Pink Paislee, Cosmo Cricket, Echo Park, October Afternoon and a few others

Exciting News For The Store

It's official...We will be starting off our 5th year
in a brand new store-front.

We will be located off exit 14.

I have been over there several times the past week
taking pics and sketching ideas for the architect.
We are going for a whole new loft/warehouse look.

We also have a terrific neighbor going in.........
a coffee and smoothie shop.....not as good as Dunkin
but the next best thing :)

I will share pictures as everything progresses
toward our move which I estimate to be the first
of June :)
