Hi Everyone

I had my halfway point surgery at 7am yesterday and had a rough day then my daughter was in an accident last night (she is fine) but it still was an ordeal last night in the rain.

Card Make It & Take It

I was just looking thru my pic files for the new product pics I took and
came across this file I forgot to post. These are pics of the card make it
and take it Kimberly did at a crop a few weeks ago. Kimberly supplied the
basics and challenged each gal to come up with their own creation. All the gals voted and the card pictured by itself was chosen as the winner. Laurel received a
3 Bugs in a Rug paper pack as her prize :)

Wednesday Update 8-28-07

Hi Everyone


My wonderful daughter Jennifer drove me to the store this am for a few hours.

So we are checking items in and putting them out. I will post a few pics later today of all the goodies that are in.

I also wanted to post a few reminders

The transparency class for this Saturday has 2 spots left as of this morning.
The crop 12noon-10pm has 4 spots left as of this morning.

The Doodle Class for Saturday October 6th has a few openings still.

If you have a spot held for either of these classes and you have not pre-paid
please call the store and give the gals your info or stop by if you rather. All
signsups for the doodling class that are on hold will need to be pre-paid by Tuesday of next week. I am sure a waiting list will be starting in the next few days.

I know with the varied store hours this week it may be hard to get by and prepay
if you email us or leave us a message we will most definately call you back asap.

I do have to be back for one last surgery tommorrow morning (Thursday at 7am)
I have one area that isnt healing correctly and they couldnt put the 3rd post in yesterday and the dentist wanted to give it 2 more days then re-check and see.

So for the rest of the week the adjusted hours are

all they have done the past 2 weeks during all

Hopefully after this mornings dental surgery I

until after our family cruise in September.

The girls did call me yesterday to let me know that

Sunday Morning Check In

Hi Everyone

Just a quick post to update on the upcoming classes

The Doodling for Paper Crafters class has 8 spots left as of this
morning's emails. Space is limited to 18

There are several ladies waiting to check with
hubbies, baby sitters etc so I am sure the class will sell out in the
next week or so. So if you are able to join us please give us a
call to reserve your spot so you don't miss out on all the fun
Sat October 6th. All the info for the Doodle Class is below also.

I had a great time cropping with the girls all day yesterday. I did not get much
cropping done myself (still recovering from Friday's dental surgery...I rarely take pain pills but this go round I have had to take several) Even though I was not cropping I enjoyed looking at what everyone was making, sharing ideas, tips
and laughs.

One gal was on a roll completing a TON of pages in her ABC album for her
daughter. I loved looking back at all the pics of her daughters childhood.
Stephanie was busy making cards and working on a school tag album plus
a very cute layout for her daughter. A couple other gals were working on
layouts all afternoon. Kimberly was whipping out her awesome layouts.
So it was definately a day of creating fun.

There are several lines due in this week and I will post as soon as they arrive.

Store hours will be varied once again a few days this week. I have another dental surgery Monday 8-27-07 at 9am and based on how painful the recovery from Friday's was I don't think I will make it into the store but Vicki and Stephanie will be in the store from 10:30am-2:30pm or so.

If I can't get there then we will close at 2:30pm.

Tuesday I am suppose to be back at the dentist at 8:30am depending on how Monday goes. So the girls will open at 10:30 Tuesday but if I can't make it the store will have to close at 2:30pm. Wednesday we will be back to the normal hours of
10:30am-6:00pm.

If you are wanting to signup for either of the upcoming classes or crops and you
can't reach us at the store you can either leave a message or email us and we will add you to the signups as calls and emails are received.

All of my customers have been TERRIFIC understanding my needing to get all this dental work done while I am on a roll. Since several of the surgeries are quite painful I have had to adjust the store's hours a few days.

I truly appreciate all your kind thoughts, calls and emails. I took a break from having alot of work done when I opened the store and now that I have started back I really want to complete all the work.

Hopefully everything will be done the end of September with the last of the implants. That is my goal since the calendar for October-December is full of
awesome classes, crops, events and more :)

Doodling for Papercrafters Special Event/Book Signing/Class Saturday October 6th 1:00pm-3:00pm

Hi Everyone

It's been a rough few days recovering from yet more dental surgery but I am just tooooo thrilled to wait to post this.......

All the plans have been finalized and we are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
excited to have Maelynn Cheung author of one of the newest and hottest idea books out right now coming to our store for a combination book signing/class event. And
talk about being in good company...Our Mrs. Kimberly (awesome instructor and design team member just happens to be featured in the book 4 times) So we will be in awesome company for the afternoon on Saturday October 6th 1:00pm-3:00pm

I have already seen a copy of this doodling book brand new from Leisure Arts.
It is absolutely wonderful and full of inspiration :)

All of the details came together mid-afternoon and I already have had several gals sign up just from being in the store today. So this class is sure to be a sell out.....So please if you want to join us call and reserve your spot asap. We are
limiting the class to 18 customers. Here are all the details.

Saturday October 6th, 2007 Class Fee of $40 includes

Fall Yard Sale in September/October

A few gals have asked when we are going to have our fall yard sale.

I am thinking about the end of September or first part of October.

We would run the yard sale the same way we did last fall and this past spring.

There WILL NOT be a fee to participate.

We will set up along the sidewalk in front of the store.

All sellers will bring their own folding tables if possible.

I do have a few tables I can loan anyone who does not have a folding table.

All transactions will be handled between you and the buyers. No money or
credit cards will run thru the store. All sellers will need to have a "change fund"

The sale hours would be 10am-3pm and we will also have a crop following the sale.

EMI will have signs up and distribute flyers to promote the sale.

If anyone is interested in signing up please email or call the store

we finalize the plans.

Transparency Techniques Class Sat 9-1-07 10:00am-12:00noon

Transparency Class - September 1, 2007 10:00 AM-Noon
Taught by Transparent Touches & Tags Design Coordinator, Kimberly Archer
Class Fee of $20 includes all supplies.
Please register ahead of time for the class in order to allow us to have everything prepared. Space is limited to 10 students.

Techniques of the transparency will be a class that will motivate you to include transparencies within your scrapbook pages as you create memories and for those special cards you love to give. Kimberly Archer, EMI Scrapbook Store Designer will be showcasing the Transparent Touches & Tags Transparencies with technique tips and ways to utilize your embellishments creatively while maintaining the integrity of your photos and your special memory. In the class, you will create a layout, card, & a pocket tag card (not shown in photo). You will be given an assortment of transparencies to try at home as well with the list of "Different Techniques with Transparencies." In addition to the transparencies we will be using the beautiful new papers from Paper Trunk's CHA July releases Gigi & Batik.


Things to bring to the class: Photos, Scissors, Ruler, & Hole Punch. You may also bring any embellishments that you wish to add to your creations as well. Inks, paints, ribbons, brads, eyelets, and painty pens are great resources. Plus EMI always has odds & ends embellishments to share free of charge.

Kimberly will also bring several layouts she has created for Transparent Touches & Tags with many different styles and techniques using transparencies.

So, be sure to get away for a few hours this coming Labor Day Weekend and come scrap with us at EMI SCRAPBOOK STORE.

Store News Tuesday August 21st

Hi Everyone

I can't believe it's been a whole week since I last posted. We have had all kinds of projects going on plus I have had 2 dental surgeries the past week.

I just met with Kimberly this morning to work on some more plans for fall classes and boy are there some really fantastic ones planned.

I should be posting a few pictures within the next day or so :)

Her first class will be a transparency class on Saturday September 1st
10:00am-12noon. Class fee is $20 and includes all the supplies to make the card, pocket tag and a 12x12 page. We will be using the new Paper Trunk Papers for these projects. After the class from 12noon - 10pm we will be having our Labor Day Weekend 1/2 price crop. The cropping fee will be half off the regular $10 fee ($5.00) Plus we will be having another of our big sale events to continue to make room for all these new goodies (+20) lines and companies.. I will send out a detailed email closer to that weekend listing the sale info.

I mentioned that I had 2 dental surgeries the past week . I am in the middle of having several implants and a few other things done. I have another one scheduled this Friday 8-24-07 and one Monday 8-27-07.

Friday there is a chance I won't have the store open. I will definately post as soon as I know. Monday the store will be open at the regular time 10:30am but Vicki may have to close early. Please feel free to call and check our hours those days. I hate to not be open but these surgeries and procedures can't wait any longer.

Monday Morning Misc

Hi Everyone

Boy what a busy weekend!

We had a great big sale Saturday and got to see/visit with a lot of our regular customers all thru the day Saturday. (even Ruth from CT was in town and came by to pick up some bargins) We also had a sold out all day crop going on from morning till late night with many of our
terrific customers :) So it was a fun busy day!

Thank you to everyone for all the sweet positive comments about all the changes in the store including new products and the re-decorating process.

The re-decorating continues this week with a few more projects and more new products are expected all thru the next several weeks....

Kimberly had a wonderful surprise make & take card project/contest along with a nice RAK prize for the winner. I will post pictures of that later today. Laurel was the winner of the contest judged by the croppers
and she received an assortment of goodies. A big thank you to Kimberly for planning the make and take this week :)

Introducing Kimberly Archer

I am soooooooooooooo excited to post that Kimberly Archer is joining
the teaching staff at the store as well as the design team. I just can't tell you all how lucky I feel to have her joining us at the store.....

Kimberly is one SUPER talented gal and also a genuinely kind person.
Definately one of the most generous people I have met.

She has been shopping with us for a while but only recently did I discover her blog (which now is in my favorite links side bar) I have spent hours looking at all of her layouts This past week and also at the crop she brought in soooo many layouts and ideas to share that my mind went into overload. We now have several of her layouts throughout the store
and they are a great source of inspiration.

If you havent been in for a week or so you should stop by and take a peek. Things have really been changing and rearranging inside.

I hope to have all info finalized in the next few days and will be posting updates. We are planning on offering the classes on Tuesdays and Saturdays and in the early fall Sundays.

Any extra kits from each class will be available for sale to anyone who can not make the class. These may be picked up starting the day after the class.
I know many people like to purchase extra kits to make altered items as gifts and sometimes "life" just gets in the way and you can't attend a class
but would like to make the project.

All class kits will have:

A colored picture of the finished project
Detailed directions

The class samples will remain in the store at all times so if you would like to come in a take advantage of our FREE table time if you miss a pre-paid class then we will have the finished project for you to use as a guide.

Awesome New Transparency Line

This new addition to the store I am really excited about. We are now carrying the coolest line of transparencies. Themes range from family, memories, summer, autumn, holidays, Disney, ballet, sports, school, babies, kids, beach, brothers, sisters, grandparents, all about me and even Scrapbooking. These come in a variety of sizes. I can't wait to play with some of these later this week. We are also going to be having a different techniques with Transparencies class coming up soon. More info on that will be posted in the next day or two.
